Well, you liked The Drinks Buzzwords You’re Sick Of Hearing, so have another piping hot batch of lingo that need to be sealed in a barrel, rolled into the sea, and left for future archaeologists to misunderstand.

Feel free to suggest some more in the comments. We love hearing from you!

“What a liquid proposition. So boundary-pushing. So disruptive”. A conversation real people have never had.

Even More Drinks Buzzwords You Never Want To Hear Again

Boundary-pushing: Which boundary? Production, flavour, format, serve, sustainability, price, audience? Vagueness is where excitement goes to die.

Clean: Are other drinks dirty? Implies healthy or light or free from artificial ingredients these days. Doesn’t actually mean anything. Pure influencer vibes.

Disruptive: The category is shaken! Or it will continue exactly as it was and next week we’ll have forgotten about this product. If you’re going to claim this, you really need to deliver.

Elevated: We want to say we’re better than you. But we’re classy about it. It’s elevated, darling.

Liquid proposition: Absolutely not. Into the sea.

Heritage: Useful if the past still shapes the present. Less useful if it means someone found an old photo and built a brand deck around it.

Modern classic: Other people can call you this. Calling yourself it? Tacky. A phrase trying to award itself a trophy. Classics are earned over time, not announced on launch day.

Natural cask strength: What is the distinction between this and plain old cask strength? Is there an unnatural cask strength?

Perfect serve: How often is there a genuine “perfect serve”. Who are we kidding? There is no secret ingredient. Man, I fucking love Kung-Fu Panda.

Premium. Super-premium. Ultra-premium: Press releases need to say something, I guess. Read: Expensive, More Expensive, and Nobody Is Ever Opening This Bottle. It’s not about the price tag, right Jessie J?
