This is the Master of Malt Trade Blog

We already have a blog, yes. You’ve seen it on our retail site. Hopefully. Do keep checking that out, it’s not changing.

But we now also have a space dedicated to writing about things that our mates in the industry want to read.

There will be recipes, how-to guides, interviews, original data, retailer insight, bartender quotes, importer/distributor perspective, market observations, roving reports, listicles, articles, bar-ticles…

But no PR graveyards full of press releases nobody asked for. This is not another platform for digital brochures. We’re not going to be cruel or cynical for clicks, but we will respect you by giving you an honest reflection of this industry because—like us—you’re living the reality every day.

And even one genuine insight from someone in the trenches is worth more than 900 words of polished nonsense.

You want a bit of content with that cocktail?

Here’s the skinny

We know you’re reading between meetings, on trains, behind bars, during lunch, while pretending to listen to somebody drone away on Teams. You don’t have time for faff. Not everything is “groundbreaking”.  Nobody in the trade wakes up wanting to read about “A celebration of craftsmanship” or an “Elevated consumer occasion”.

You want to know what’s actually selling. What’s dying, or overhyped. What are bars stocking now, what are consumers asking for, and what’s changing.

We are based in Kent, and London is on our doorstep. Naturally, a lot happens in the capital, and our coverage will reflect that. But our readers and trade customers rank far and wide, and this blog will recognise that too.

The best trade content helps people make decisions and saves you time. If a brand manager, bartender, retailer, distributor, or distiller can finish the piece with a stronger grasp of the market, we’re happy. If you end up debating what we’ve written on a bar at midnight, it’s probably a good article.

So that’s it. Welcome to the Master of Malt Trade Blog. Welcome to the fun. We’ll probably look at publishing once a week. Maybe more. We’re figuring it out ourselves. And if you’ve got some insight that the people need, get in touch.

We’re always interested in hearing about new launches, producer stories, category insight, venue news, and trade ideas worth sharing. If you’ve got something our buyers, bartenders, retailers, or drinks industry readers should know about, get in touch by emailing content@masterofmalt.com.
